Young children love to please, but they're not naturally generous (think how hard sharing is). They need to learn the meaning of giving -- whether it's material items or thoughtful gestures. And when they do, they will truly value the experience of putting other people first.
Some toddlers learn by doing, others by listening or by playing. Knowing how your child naturally processes information can help you tailor her learning experiences.
Show your child how much she already knows, and she'll feel like she can meet the next challenge that comes her way. That's where self-confidence starts.
If your child is struggling with something, try to stand back and let him figure it out for himself. Giving him that space will empower him to want to keep on trying.
